ASUS P5N-E SLI Review - NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI

March 19th 2007 | nForce 600

The ASUS P5N-E SLI (NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI) is a great board for any end-user. If you are into overclocking or a gamer on a budget, you really can’t go wrong with this motherboard. It provides you with all the necessities to get a good solid overclock, which, given the ease with which the Core 2 Duo architecture overclocks, anyone buying this board would want. The voltage and ram timings are in a range where a newbie at overclocking has a solid idea of what is going on. There are no extreme numbers in the BIOS which might lead some extreme benchers to volt-mod the board.

Within the price point the P5N-E SLI sits at there are a few other boards that can also give you some pretty good numbers when it comes to overclocking, including the ASUS P5B (non deluxe models), Gigabyte DS3 and some others. But the thing that makes the P5N-E SLI really stands out is that it supports SLI in the form of dual 8x lanes. This is something that someone with a lower end Nvidia card would love. No need to go investing in a single expensive card when money doesn’t permit. Just get another card of the same series and you are back in the game.

This is the board to get if you need a very good well-priced motherboard to game with. Don’t sleep on this board, its pretty damn good.
