Stefan Hoerzer sends word of a new BIOS for the ASUS A7N8X
Deluxe (available at ASUS’ ftp site. There’s also a new version out for the
ASUS A7N8X (non-deluxe).
These follow a slightly different naming system to previous versions, AW4M1002.001
for the ASUS A7N8X Deluxe, AW2M1002.001 for the ASUS A7N8X. Neither
version is currently listed in the downloads section at ASUS’ web site – users
in our ASUS
nForce forum are describing them as Beta – so use caution. Reports
are good so far – better than 1001.G and someone mentioned the FSB goes up to
250mhz!

Holly molly! FSB GOES ALL THE WAY UP TO 250mhz!!!!
Bandittheone:
The multipliers are also not automatically unlocked
jasonamd:
Things I’ve noticed.
1.) As already stated, FSB goes up to 250MHz
2.) Auto multiplier setting is displayed correctly (in 1001.g it showed 6.5x)
3.) FSB Spread Spectrum seems to be stuck at .50%
4.) Qfan stll doesn’t work
Xenogti:
Yeah, I flashed without uncompressing the Aw4m1002.001 file
and it worked.
Couple other things I noticed that weren’t mentioned. System seems to boot a bit
quicker now. Before, when rebooting, the monitor would shut off, then sit there
for a few seconds and then kick on and show the POST screen. It doesn’t sit there
for a few seconds now. It automatically comes back on. I had AGP set as default
interface with old bios and this one.
Also, you can’t disable the POST speach reporter and have the POST report enabled.
Disabling POST Speach Reporter disables POST Report.
