For those wanting a gradual crossover from DDR2 to DDR3, there’s the ASRock P45R2000-WiFi, an Intel P45 motherboard capable of running both types of memory:
Besides that, it is a fairly full-featured motherboard, especially considering the price. Sporting a long list of features, including effective passive chipset cooling, eSATA, lots of overclocking features, onboard WiFi, Crossfire capability, and much more, make this economy-minded board a contender with most mid-range motherboards. It is a also a reasonable overclocker.
I found the ASRock P45R2000-WiFi to be an excellent motherboard, and at $130, and excellent value for someone wanting to build a new rig with Intel’s latest chipset, and would like the ability to later upgrade to DDR3 memory.
