Apple Offers Rebate, Apologizes to iPhone Buyers

September 10th 2007 | Phones

Apple’s Steve Jobs has written a public letter to upset iPhone owners and he is now offering a $100 store credit to people who bought iPhones more than 14 days ago. Jobs drastically cut the price of the 8 GB iPhone yesterday from $599 to $399. As you can expect, early adopters – many who stood in line for hours – were livid about a 33% price drop in the span of just two months.

Apple is offering anyone who purchased an iPhone within the last 14 days a rebate of the difference, but earlier buyers will have to settle for the $100 credit. Jobs said details are still being finalized and more information will be posted on the Apple website next week.
