AMD may cut the prices on its K8 platform CPUs in July, one month before Intel’s planned price cuts for its Pentium 4 600 series, writes DigiTimes:
Intel is expected to lower its prices on August 14, although sources indicated Intel may implement the cuts earlier if motherboard sales in the second quarter are lower than expected. AMD claimed no knowledge of the news. In May, AMD announced price cuts of its Sempron processors.
DigiTimes also reports that NVIDIA has cut the price of its nForce3 250 chipset by about US$5 VIA Technologies for its mainstream chips
