Altec Lansing inMotion 9 (IM9) Portable Audio System for iPod review

In the IM9, Altec Lansing has delivered a compact portable audio system with good looks and great sound, rugged enough to take some hard knocks yet light and compact enough to take with you to the pool or on an outing. It even comes with a single-strap backpack for easy transport.

Its sound quality and ability to play really loud put it several notches above competing portable systems, almost in the league of the more expensive desktop systems. It has rugged good looks, comes with a nice backpack, and is simple to operate. It’s versatile enough to go from bedroom to living room to poolside to hiking trip. Despite a couple of flaws, I think that Altec Lansing has delivered another winner in the IM9.
