Albatron Technology has launched a mid-range VGA card, the AGP6200, that utilizes Nvidia’s NV43V GPU. The NV43V incorporates PCI-Express (PCIe) technology, which has now been adapted to work with the AGP interface. Nvidia accomplished this by designing an HSI (High Speed Interconnect) chip to translate signals between the AGP and PCIe, thus preserving the original PCIe core and bandwidth of the GPU. The result is a fast, reasonably priced AGP alternative for those who want to extend the life of their AGP-based mainboards.
The NV43V GPU has been designed with four pipelines and manufactured in 0.11-micron process technology. This GPU comes with Pure Video technology and supports Microsoft DirectX 9.0c, along with Shader Model 3.0.
The AGP6200 has a 300MHz core frequency and 128MB of DDR memory (128-bit). D-Sub, TV-Out and DVI interfaces are all supported. To ensure that the card would perform well under long periods of use, Albatron uses only Japan-manufactured capacitors.
