Home Theater PC’s are a relatively new. But obviously Microsoft knows when to get on an emerging market with their release of Windows XP Media Center Edition. In 2003, Microsoft even used an Ahanix home theater PC case during Bill Gates’ Comdex Keynote speech. With a home theater PC, one can record T.V. shows, play music, play games, or even have a slide-show. Today, Tech-mods looks at the Ahanix MCE601 model designed solely for Home Theater use:

The Ahanix MCE601 D-Vine Home Theater System is definitely not kid’s stuff. The comparison to a BMW is founded. This is a real status symbol. The quality of construction is top notch. The smooth, uncluttered look of the case is perfect for an awesome addition to anyone’s home entertainment system. Inside, there could be a few improvements, like changing the layout so a regular size power-supply could be used. Having fans as quiet as the power-supply would be really nice. Cutting the expansion cards slots completely out and putting in covers would be welcomed. Toolless removal of the drive-cages would be nice, although one wouldn’t expect constant hardware changes being made to this type of case. It is pricy, but if you wanted to build a Home Theater System and tell the world that you’ve arrived, this is the case to buy.
