Barablu sees significant growth for its free mobile phone calls - Voice over Wi-Fi service spreads to 96 countries in two months
Barablu, the free calls community, announces a strong customer demand for its newly launched free calls and text Mobile-to-Mobile (Wi-Fi enabled) service, which has spread to 96 countries in just two months.
The company believes that the growth is driven by the global growth of Wi-Fi enabled mobiles, smartphone devices, and the customer demand for free services. With the Internet voice going mobile, usage prices are falling, and even free, revolutionising the current high pricing structures of global mobile operators.
Barablu is the first company in the world to offer a free calls and text Mobile-to-Mobile (Wi-Fi enabled) service for its users. The service uses Wi-Fi networks, and is currently available on four types of mobile devices: The Nokia Communicators Nokia 9300i and 9500 (Symbian), as well as i-mate: SP5 and SP5m (Windows Mobile). The Nokia E60 service will be available soon, and more handsets will be added later during the year.
Baskaran Allirajah, Managing Director of Barablu, comments: "Consumers around the world are constantly looking for cheaper, even free, and easy-to-use services. We are meeting this demand by offering similar PC based IP services as Skype, but extending the service to Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones as well. These are quad band phones, which can connect to either a conventional cellular service or a Wi-Fi network."
Founded in 2005, Barablu is the world’s first free calls and text mobile-to-mobile community. It offers user-friendly and advanced IP communications services using VoIP WLAN technology. Its users include both businesses and individuals, who are looking for best-of-breed and useful communication solutions, which best support their work and private lifestyle. The service includes free calls from mobiles, PDAs, PCs and IP phones along with Instant Messaging between mobiles, PDAs and PCs. Barablu’s "MyNumber" offers the individual control and management of their own telephone number anywhere in the world, as well as free incoming mobile calls when roaming. Barablu is based in London.
